My tango life is in the pits. Passionless. Phooey.
However, life in Shedville has its compensations.
The garden is producing lots of peas and beans and I harvested a bumper crop of shallots and garlic. And now we have lilies.
Two steps forward, one back. I’ve accomplished a few tasks on the bathing shed, but my habit of designing as I go means rather slow progress.

Post and beam construction is fast fun once the posts are in. Everything else just gets tacked on.

Another beautiful Sunday afternoon in Shedville spent dancing tango.
From left, Gary, Kindy, Daryl, Annie, Susan, and Cappy.
Then I was put in the picture and they teased me.

What a pain. The blog went blank for about a week. Did you miss me? It was the old .htaccess snag. I learned a lot in the process but I’d prefer not.
Whew!

While I’m considering design options — life and Bathing Shed — I’m working on splitting up the winter wood supply.
I like splitting wood and so does Lisa. I broke my last axe handle the other day. I like the double bitted axe but Lisa likes a single, so I bought two handles and fixed one for each. Can a shed girl ask for more?
I’m even going to leave her some wood to split when she returns from her trip. Magnanimous, that’s me.

I’m letting some creative tension build. I’ve got at least two desirable alternatives facing me and I’m waiting to see which wins. Stay in Shedville for the winter and build my Bathing Shed?
Or run off to Buenos Aires?
In order to do further work on the Bathing Shed I’ll have to buy more lumber. I’ve sketched in some basics here with the lumber on hand. I love post and beam construction because you can hang any design on the posts. In this case I’ve got 19 - 2′ x 5′ double pane windows I can frame in.
Buying the lumber would eliminate my piddling savings and the idea of traveling to BA soon. It makes much more sense to wait until April for a trip to BA. I have the idea of staying longer than 3 months next time and I don’t want to be there for the summer. I am not a heat and humidity type of guy. So April to November next year? The first Social Security check has appeared in my checking account so I can look forward to some income — also piddling — on a permanent basis.
Shedville has its attractions. The garden is resurgent under new management.
The only thing missing is a passionate Tango life.
“Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp, Or what’s a heaven for?
Robert Browning, (line 97 from Andrea del Sarto, 1855)
